Engaging Lewisham-based young people ages 11 - 16 through FREE performance and discussion sessionsSpeaking Up is a supportive public speaking and confidence-building programme for young people aged 11–16, delivered by Indie and Aleska, SOUNDS LiKE CHAOS Associates.
The programme helps young people develop strong communication and listening skills through creative, age-appropriate activities. Sessions are designed to build confidence gradually, encouraging participants to express their ideas clearly, work collaboratively, and feel more comfortable speaking in front of others. Learning is aligned with the Cambridge Oracy Framework.
Speaking Up provides a safe and encouraging space for young people to build confidence, find their voice, and develop skills that support both their education and everyday life.
The programme is currently taking place at Deptford Green. A previous cohort ran at The Albany (2–5 April 2024) and concluded with a sharing for families and invited guests.
